A Little About US

Residents of Boston’s North Shore were first introduced to Ipswich Ale during the spring of 1991. With 25 years of history behind it, Ipswich Ale has been in existence longer than nearly every other craft brewer in New England. Since that time, the Ipswich Ale portfolio of brands have developed into a tradition shared by not only the residents of eastern Massachusetts, but across New England.

In January of 2016, the Ipswich Ale Brewery opened their onsite restaurant the Ipswich Ale Brewer’s Table, which features 15 tap lines and a diverse menu with a mix of tastes ranging from brewpub to New American cuisine.

Career Opportunities: Entry Level Packaging Assistant 
Duties included operating the bottling, canning, and keg lines and ensuring the beer leaves the brewery in the best possible condition.
This is an entry level, hourly job and we are hiring both full and part-time positions. Prior work with machinery or in a warehouse/manufacturing setting preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.

Career Opportunities: Brewer I

Ipswich Ale Brewery is growing rapidly and we are looking for an experienced and motivated brewer to join our team. We offer competitive pay, health insurance, paid vacation/sick time, and options for a flex spending account, 401 K, and dental insurance.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has 2+ years brewery experience.
  • Thorough understanding of standard industry operating procedures.
  • Is a good leader.
  • Has the ability to work independently, but also works well on a team.
  • Is quality driven.
  • Has good time management skills.
  • Pays attention to detail.

Has the ability to troubleshoot.

Centrifuge and/or prior cellar experience a major plus!

 

The Brewer I position begins within the cellar. Opportunities for shifts in the brewhouse become available after proven proficiency in all cellar related functions.

Daily responsibilities include, but not limited to:



  • Regular tank CIP & beer transfers
  • Yeast handling & dry hopping
  • Following sanitary handling SOP’s
  • Preparation of the product for packaging: carbonations, clarification
  • putting data into our brewery management software
  • Maintaining the overall cleanliness of the workspace
  • A desire to help the lab identify QC issues and help provide solutions
